Lyme Regis Town Council has a vacancy for one councillor, to be filled by co-option.

Elections for the town council were due to be held on Thursday 2 May but as only 13 people were nominated for 14 seats, all candidates were elected uncontested, leaving one seat unfilled.

If you are interested in being co-opted to the council, please contact the town clerk, preferably by email, by midday on Friday 7 June 2024.

Applications should include your contact details and a 250-word explanation of why you would like to be co-opted onto the council.

Your nomination must be proposed and seconded by a registered elector of Lyme Regis.

Councillors will decide the appointment by majority vote at an extraordinary meeting of the Full Council on 19 June 2024.

For further information contact John Wright, town clerk, john.wright@lymeregistowncouncil.gov.uk or Adrianne Mullins, support services manager, adrianne.mullins@lymeregistowncouncil.gov.uk.

Two information sessions for prospective candidates will be held on Tuesday 28 May at 6pm and Monday 3 June at 10am in the council offices.

Please email enquiries@lymeregistowncouncil.gov.uk to confirm attendance.
