Following the announcement of the Emergency Road Closure of Bridge Street - this will obviously effect the running of all bus services, including the park and ride service.
The X51/53 and the park and ride buses will enter Lyme Regis via the A35, Hunter's Lodge and the Uplyme Road and will drop off/pick up passengers close to the former cinema before turning in Holmbush car park and returning to the A35 via the same route.
The Town Bus service will operate to it's 'usual' 'road closure' route and timetable - we have details of this at our offices, please call us on 01297 445175 if you need any information regarding the Town Bus service.
In the case of the park and ride service it will inevitably mean that the published timetable cannot be kept to and this will likely impact Charmouth passengers too. Charmouth parish council has been notified.
The drivers will do their best to notify all passengers about the changed drop off and collection point when they get on the bus and First are also arranging for notices to be placed at the ‘normal’ stops in Lyme.
We have spoken directly with Western Power who seem confident that the work will be completed to programme and that the road will be opened first thing Sunday morning. The town is currently operating on only one of two main supplies and if the remaining supply fails then the entire town is without power, including essential services like the pumping station.
