COVID-19: Guitars on the Beach still going ahead at the moment

GUITARS on the Beach is still going ahead as planned in June - for the time being at least.

Organisers of the event on 27 June have confirmed the festival is currently still on but they are monitoring developments and will cancel if required.

A statement on the GOTB Facebook page said: "The advice being given is changing daily and if the government forces all events to cancel then we regrettably will have to follow suit for everybody's health and safety, but our aim is to continue as planned and hold the festival on the 27th of June 2020.

"We are looking into a reserve date at the end of the season, if that is not possible then the only other realistic option will be to postpone the “Last Time” until June 2021, as our priority is to deliver a safe low-risk event."

Anyone who has pre-ordered a wristband can either carry it over to the re-arranged date or request a refund from info@guitarsonthebeach.com.

Funds to host the event have been raised via Just Giving, which organisers say is safe.

They said: "The money is safe and although we have had to put a sizeable deposit down for the stage, which we potentially could lose, we feel comfortable that if we have to postpone the event it is not at risk, we may have to do a little more fundraising, but we will cope.

"We promise to keep you up to date with any changes/news as soon as we have more guidance, please trust we are just as upset about this as you are and will let you know any new information as soon as we know more."
