If you are passionate about our community and want to make a real difference, Lyme Regis Town Council needs you.

Nominations are invited for those who would like to become a town councillor in Lyme Regis, with the deadline on Tuesday 15 April at 4pm.

The mayor of Lyme Regis, Cllr Philip Evans has encouraged those who are interested to put their names forward.

He said: “Being a town councillor is a hugely rewarding and fulfilling role. We need people from all backgrounds and experiences who reflect the community to put themselves forward for election.

“Since becoming mayor in 2024, I have been working hard to change the town’s perception of the council by getting out and about, meeting as many organisations, residents and businesses as possible to get a more positive message out there.

“We need enthusiastic local people who care about this town to step up and help us continue delivering the very best service we can.

“If anyone is interested in becoming a town councillor, please have a chat to any of the 13 councillors to find out more.”

Notice of an election was given by Dorset Council on Monday 7 April.  

Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Returning Officer, Dorset Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ between 9.30am and 4pm before the deadline.

An appointment must be made to deliver nomination papers by contacting Electoral Services on 01305 838299 or elections@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk.

Nomination papers are available from the returning officer or can be downloaded from the Electoral Commission website.
