Dorset Architectural Heritage Week - Discover hidden Lyme Regis

Discover Lyme Regis History as part of Dorset Architectural Heritage Week.

On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September, between 10am and 4pm, Lyme Regis Cemetery Chapel will be open to the public. This small Church of England Chapel is a hidden, little seen gem, built in the 1850's in the Council cemetary.

On Sunday 15th September, between 10am and 4pm, The Guildhall will be open to the public. The Guildhall is one of Lyme's most iconic buildings, The architect behind this historic building was George Vialls (1843 - 1912) who later designed the nearby Lyme Regis Philpot Museum.

On Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September, between 2pm and 4pm, the Lyme Regis Mural will be open to the public. The only remaining visible part of a mural on the walls of the old Children's Ward of Lyme Regis Cottage Hospital, now the Lyme Regis Nursing Home. Painted by Wyndham Payne in 1935, the mural was a gift to the hospital and town as thanks for the care of two children.
