Thousands of people who are over State Pension age are missing out on financial support that could mean they are £75 a week better off.
It is separate from the state pension, which means that you could still be entitled to Pension Credit even if you have other income, savings or own your own home, if you fall within the criteria.
It is easy to check whether you are eligible by using the Pension Credit calculator online at www.gov.uk/pension-credit or call the Pension Credit claim line on 0800 99 1234.
If you're over 66 and living on a low income, you may be eligible for Pension Credit, a valuable benefit designed to help older residents with their living costs. Pension Credit can provide you with extra money to top up your income, making it easier to cover everyday expenses like heating, food, and bills. Applying is simple, and even a small amount of extra income can make a big difference in your quality of life. Don’t miss out on the support you deserve—apply for Pension Credit today and ensure you’re getting all the financial help available to you.
DORSET COUNCIL have funded several projects through the Cost of Living fund to provide additional support to people over 65 to access the benefits they are entitled to, particularly Pension Credits, until March 2025. Crucially, all of these organisations are able to provide support to people in their own homes.
Contact a voluntary organisation like Citizens Advice or Age UK if you need help with the application process.
You can call the free Dorset Adviceline on 0800 144 8848.
