Biography

I’ve been a councillor of this special town since 2022 and deputy mayor in 2023/24. A councillor’s role needs to be one of collaboration, listening to residents and supporting efforts to improve life here for our community. I strongly believe councillors must all work together to achieve the best outcomes for residents and the town. Having retired from 10 years work with a non-profit, Community Interest Company promoting local food, I have the time and enthusiasm to get involved as a councillor. I bring knowledge from an earlier business career in scientific technology as well as over 30 years’ experience of governance in schools and trusts. I currently volunteer at the Town Mill where I’m a trustee and I sing with the Lyme Bay Moonrakers shanty group, performing regularly to support local events. I’m coordinator for the voluntary Lyme Bay area energy champions, who offer residents free home thermal surveys, tips on how to save energy, reduce bills, keep warm and avoid problems such as damp and condensation. I’m also a keen supporter of organisations like the River Lim Action Group, the Bluetits and others in their efforts to clean up our river and beaches.
