Sean Larcombe is co-opted onto the town council

CONGRATULATIONS to Sean Larcombe, who has been co-opted onto the town council.

Only 13 of the 14 seats on the council were filled following the election in May so the vacancy was advertised for co-option.

Cllr Larcombe was one of three people to apply for the role and all the candidates were outstanding. This will be the second time he has served on the council, having been a town councillor between 2015 and 2019.

Cllr Larcombe said: "I understand it’s a very fine line juggling between pleasing Lyme residents and looking after the tourist industry, which seaside towns rely heavily on throughout the summer season.

"But as a council, we should listen to the people who live here throughout the year, as well as trying to address the needs of visitors who come back year after year.

"As a council we are not going to get it right every time, sometimes there is a need to revisit issues and if necessary, do a u-turn. This should be taken as a learning curve.

"You won’t please all the people all the time, but if you can please the majority some of the time, you won’t be doing a bad job."

Welcome to the council Cllr Larcombe!
