Keeping up with the Guildhall: Essential Maintenance

Our beloved Guildhall is not just a historic landmark; it’s the heart of our civic community and a cherished venue for weddings, civic events, and local gatherings. To keep it looking its best, the town council’s maintenance team has been hard at work carrying out essential upkeep.

From clearing out the gutters to fixing damaged fascias, the team has been making sure the building remains in good condition. Over time, debris can accumulate in the gutters, leading to potential water damage.

The maintenance team has also been repairing and repainting fascias, restoring the Guildhall’s elegant appearance. A fresh coat of paint not only enhances the beauty of the building but also helps protect it from the elements, ensuring it remains a stunning backdrop for wedding photos and special events.

Beyond these larger projects, the team has been busy with a general tidy-up, making sure every corner of the Guildhall looks pristine. This includes minor repairs, touch-ups, and ensuring the surrounding areas are neat and well-kept. Their efforts guarantee that wedding guests, and community members can enjoy the building in all its glory.

Maintaining such an iconic building is an ongoing task, but it’s one the town council takes great pride in. By investing time and care into these essential maintenance projects, we are preserving a piece of local history while ensuring it remains an inviting and picturesque venue for all who use it.

Did you know community groups and organisations can hire the Guildhall for free? It makes a grand meeting room for those important meetings to keep you ticking along. Contact us on: enquiries@lymeregistowncouncil.gov.uk for more information.

The next time you pass by the Guildhall or attend an event there, take a moment to appreciate the hard work that keeps this treasured landmark preserved for future generations.

And if you see a member of the maintenance team, be sure to give them a well-deserved thank you!
